J&K Police on high alert to address potential incidents on Republic Day: IGP Kashmir

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdhi assured the public of a secure Republic Day celebration, stating that the J&K Police and security agencies are on high alert to address any potential incidents.

Speaking at the Full Dress Rehearsal at Bakhshi Stadium Srinagar, the IGP emphasized the well-coordinated security arrangements in Srinagar and surrounding areas, with the entire security grid remaining vigilant for the smooth conduct of Republic Day festivities.

“There are well security arrangements in place in Srinagar district and other adjoining areas. Also, the security grid is vigilant,” stated the IGP, highlighting the strong coordination between J&K Police and other security agencies.

The IGP affirmed the commitment to ensuring hassle-free movement of people towards celebration venues, encouraging a large turnout for Republic Day events.

Responding to a query, he asserted that the J&K Police remains perpetually alert to thwart any potential threats, vowing to remain firm in pinning down any security concerns.

He expressed confidence that there would be no restrictions on January 26, inviting everyone to participate in the celebrations.
