Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Jammu and Kashmir next month, marking his second visit in less than a month.
This visit will be the maiden visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kashmir since bifurcation of the state into two Union Territories in August 2019.
During his previous visit to Jammu, the PM unveiled development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore.
Sources told News a local news agency that a detailed schedule of his visit to Kashmir is expected to be released soon.
Sources said that during his upcoming visit, Prime Minister Modi will address women Self Help Groups and others through video conferencing across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, on March 6.
This will be two days ahead of International Women’s Day, which coincides with the Shivratri festival this year.
In addition, the PM will address a public rally in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir, where he will launch various schemes and interact with beneficiaries of welfare programs.
Sources further added that the public rally in Anantnag is significant as it will mark the launch of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the Kashmir valley.
