Another Encounter starts in J&K’s Kishtwar, just a day after 2 Soldiers were martyred in Anantnag encounter.

The encounter in Kishtwar district has started and it is just a day after two army personnel were killed and six others, including two civilians, were injured in a fierce gunfight with terrorists in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The encounter started after the terrorists opened fire on police and army guarding a bridge and its adjoining area in Padyaran, some 25 Km from Kishtwar.

This  area has three major power projects – 540 MW Kwar (run-of-the-river Kiru hydroelectric project ), Kiru and 1000 MW Pakal-Dul power projects that are set up within the 5-10 KM radius while 390 MW Dul Hasti project that is run- of – the – river hydroelectricity project of the Chenab river is also located in the same area.

More troops have been deployed in the valley and an operation is underway to hunt down the terrorists.
