Elections to be conducted in J&K in three phases : Elections in J&K will be conducted in three phases while phase one will start from 18th of September, second phase will start from 25th while third phase will start from 1st of October and date of counting will be 4 October announced Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar during recent press conference held.

In March, Election Commission members visited the valley and observed that the residents were eager for elections to take place there. During the conference held today Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stated that J&K has 90 assembly constituencies, with 20 lakh young voters, while the electoral roll is being processed. As soon as the Amarnath Yatra ends on 19th August, the final electoral roll will be published on 20th August. The election in J&K will be conducted in three phases.
All polling stations will be equipped with facilities to ensure accessible and inclusive elections.
