The two accused arrested in the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique have claimed they belong to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, police sources said. The probe has found that the accused were paid in advance and got delivered their weapons a few days ago.
The 66-year-old leader was attacked while leaving his office for his residence in Bandra West on Saturday night and succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Two accused have been arrested, while the third is on the run. Teams from the Mumbai Crime Branch have left for five locations outside the state, including Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, to apprehend the third accused.
