GDC Darhal organised Poster Making Competition on World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day takes place every year on 28th July to mark the birth anniversary of Nobel Prize winning scientist Dr.~ Baruch Blumberg, who discovered hepatitis B virus and developed a diagnostic test and vaccine for the virus. To commemorate the day NSS unit (IMDAD) in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club of GDC Darhal organized a poster making competition with the aim to bring the world together under a single theme, to raise awareness of the global
burden of viral hepatitis and to influence real change. In the year 2023 the theme of the WHD is
" We're not waiting". Students of the college enthustically participated in the event by showchasing their thoughts on the paper and became a part of awareness campaign on Hepatitis. In the poster making competition the first position was shared by Waqar Ahmed and Mahboob Sadeeq of sem Vth; second position was shared by Shaheez Ahmed of sem IIIrd and Sayra jabeen of sem Vth.While the third position was shared by Samiyra Kosser of sem IIIth and Aleena Anjum of Sem Vth. Consolation prize was given to Rabia Kosser of Sem Vth. The entire program was organized under the able guidance of Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, esteemed Principal of the college. While addressing the students he exhorted that WHD is a day for the world's Hepatitis community to unite and make our voices heard. It a day to celebrate the progress we have made and to meet the current challenges.It also an opportunity for us to increase awareness.
