To Strengthen Border Security, the Army uses Black Hornet Nano Drones in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: The Black Hornet Nano drone, a small but sophisticated surveillance instrument designed to improve border security, particularly in the sensitive areas close to Pakistan, has been added to the Indian Army’s fleet. The drone, which was demonstrated at the Tanda Artillery Division in Akhnoor, Jammu, during the 9th Veterans Day celebration, is intended to help prevent infiltration attempts and closely monitor enemy movements.

The Black Hornet Nano, one of the smallest military drones currently in operation, weighs only 18 grams and is only 16 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. Soldiers can obtain intelligence covertly thanks to its small size and silent operation, which make it practically invisible. The two-camera drone can infiltrate confined areas, like insurgent burrows, to gather important surveillance footage.

In unstable environments, the Black Hornet Nano drone is very helpful for giving instant situational awareness. It requires little training and may be swiftly deployed while wearing a soldier’s utility belt. The Indian Army can keep an eye on insurgent sites without warning them because to the drone’s low noise levels, which allow it to operate covertly.

The United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and India are among the countries that have previously accepted this mini UAV, which was created by Prox Dynamics AS of Norway. With a range of up to 1.6 km, it can fly in a variety of settings, including at night, and provides real-time video and still photographs with a small camera.
