Srinagar: The Wildlife Department’s daily workers and casual labourers demonstrated outside the chief minister’s house in Srinagar, calling for regularisation of services and pay on par with that of other workers.
Outside the CM’s home in Gupkar, dozens of daily wage earners and casual workers gathered to demand their demands.
“We have been serving the department for over a decade and unfortunately, our pleas have been ignored so far,” said one of the protesters.
According to him, the government had to investigate the situation and provide the demands as soon as possible.
Additionally, a group of demonstrators met with Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the National Conference. “The NC President assured the delegation that he will take up the issue with the minister concerned in Jammu on Monday,” the protesters informed.
However, they stated that they will continue to demonstrate if their demands were not fulfilled.
