KANGRI, JANUARY 29: In a major outreach initiative, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted a Public Darbar at Punna Khetar, Kangri, in Beripattan tehsil, District Rajouri, engaging directly with the residents and addressing their concerns. The event saw overwhelming participation, with people expressing gratitude for the government’s proactive approach to governance.
Key Public Issues Raised:
During the interactive session, residents voiced multiple demands, including:
✅ Relocation of the Tehsil office to Beripattan for administrative convenience.
✅ Establishment of a veterinary sub-centre at Tanda to enhance animal healthcare.
✅ Installation of electricity poles and resolution of frequent power cuts.
✅ Upgradation of roads, including:

Gurudwara Singh to Main Road

✅ Requisition of transformers at Pyari Gala, Tanda (Ward No. 5), and Punna Khetar, Kangri.

The Deputy Chief Minister attentively listened to the public grievances and immediately directed the district administration and concerned departments to address the issues on a priority basis.

Crackdown on Exploitation & Strengthening Public Services
🔹 Strict Action Against Exploitative Fertilizer Dealers: The Deputy CM ordered the Chief Agriculture Officer to cancel the licenses of fertilizer dealers charging higher-than-approved rates, ensuring fair pricing for farmers.
🔹 Tehsildar Office to be Made Functional in Panchayat Ghar Kangri: To enhance administrative accessibility, he directed the relocation of the Tehsildar office to Panchayat Ghar Kangri for the convenience of the local population.
🔹 Reshuffle of Non-Performing Officials: He also instructed for a reshuffle of underperforming officers to enhance efficiency in service delivery.
Strengthening Governance in Border Areas
To further bolster public outreach in remote and border regions, the Deputy CM directed ADDC Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, to hold similar grievance redressal programs.
