A spell of rains on Thursday created havoc in parts of Jammu region where the city was completely waterlogged.
Rains exposed the menace created by Jammu Municipal Corporation as the city became standstill due to waterlogging and overflowing drains.
WARD no. 14 Nitco Line of Talab Tillo is one of the worst-hit areas. Residents are angry with the R&B Department over the dilapidated condition of the roads.
“Flooded roads and lanes have trapped the motorists as there are so many potholes and open manholes on the road,” said a local.
“Waterlogging is a chronic problem and gets aggravated during rain. Despite functional sewerage costing crores of rupees, the problem persists as the sewage overflows during rain,” said a resident of the area.
“A majority of the roads in the city are in poor condition and need blacktopping. The potholes are a major threat for the drivers as they get filled with rainwater, he added.
