J&K Govt to take strict measures against begging menace

Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to take strict measures against increasing menace of begging in the urban areas, including Jammu city and peripheral townships.
Official spokesman said that the District Senior Superintendents of Police have been directed to liaise with the district Magistrates to ensure that sufficient infrastructure is created to comply with the provision of the Act and ensure strict action in case of organised/forced begging under Section 363-A IPC and Section 76 of Juvenile care protection Act 2015.
He said that the move has been taken on a report of District Special Branch, Jammu, sought after frequent government received several complaints from various areas.
