Pace up work to clear road to Sonmarg for snow festival from 2nd week of March: DDC

The district administration is making all efforts to put through the road to famed tourist destination Sonmarg in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, where snow festival is being organised in the second week of March.
Sonamarg, about 80-km-long from Srinagar, was cut off due to accumulation of snow and slippery road condition for the past over two months during which police station, tourism and other offices remained closed.
An official spokesman said District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, on Tuesday visited Sonamarg to have first hand assessment of snow clearance operation on Sonamarg-Gumri road.
