Resignation of SAS Geelani from Hurriyat Conference is sign of failure of separatism in Kashmir: J&K DGP

J&K Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has said, the resignation of Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani from Hurriyat Conference was a sign of failure of separatism in Kashmir.

During his visit to Rajouri today, the DGP said, Geelani’s resignation shows that the separatists were feeling dejected and failed.

He said, some points mentioned by Geelani in his letter shows a negative approach of the separatists which results in widespread losses of public life and property.

He said that Pakistan is constantly trying to promote terrorism in Rajouri Poonch belt through repeated infiltration attempts, but forces have been successful in thwarting these attempts.

The DGP added that 128 terrorists were eliminated this year in Jammu and Kashmir and those youth who were derailed and forced to follow the path of terrorism are being motivated to return to normal life and shun the path of terrorism.
