Train service remains suspended due to snowfall in Kashmir

Train service remained suspended for the second successive day on Thursday due to heavy to very heavy snowfall during the last 24 hours in Kashmir valley.
”The train service will remain suspended today as well, as the tracks, particularly in south Kashmir, are under several feet of snow,” a railway official told .
He said one of the snow cutters is under repair and can be used to clear the tracks only after it is fixed. ”On top of that, it is still snowing in Anantnag making snow clearance operation on tracks difficult,” he said.
