In a bid to remember the sacrifices of Karbala Martyrs, the District Police Srinagar on Saturday distributed refreshments among the mourners at Zadibal here on the eve of Youm-e- Ashoora. The Youm-e-Ashoora, martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions is observed on every 10th of Muharram, the first month of Islamic year. The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Rakesh Balwal along with the other policemen from District Police Srinagar, especially from Police Station Zadibal were seen distributing the refreshments including water and other stuff among the mourners. The District Police Srinagar had installed a stall at the main Chowk Zadibal where the mourners were getting the water and other refreshments throughout the day. ADGP Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar told the reporters that the stall was installed today to pay tributes to the Karbala Martyrs. “Jammu & Kashmir Police is part of the society and we have shared our bit and will continue to do so in the
future,” he said.
