Srinagar, Feb 28 – In view of the ongoing cold wave gripping the region, the Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has announced an extension of winter vacations for all schools. Education Minister MS Sakina Itoo confirmed that schools will now reopen on March 7 instead of the previously scheduled date.
The decision comes as many areas in J&K continue to experience harsh winter conditions, making it challenging for students to resume regular classes. The move has been widely welcomed by parents and students, ensuring their safety and well-being during the extended cold spell.
Authorities have advised schools to utilize online modes of learning where possible to minimize academic disruption. Further updates will be provided if weather conditions necessitate additional changes.
