CBSE Class 12 Results Announced; 88.39% Students Clear Exams

New Delhi, May 13: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 12 examination results on Tuesday, with 88.39% of students passing — an increase of 0.41% from last year.

According to a CBSE press release, girls outperformed boys once again, with a 91% pass rate — 5.94% higher than that of boys.

The CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams were held from February 15 to April 4, with Class 10 exams wrapping up by March 18. Over 16 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 exams, and more than 14 lakh successfully passed.

Among regions, Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh topped the list with a 99.60% pass rate, while Prayagraj recorded the lowest, with approximately 80% of students passing.

Examinations were held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at 7,842 centres across India and in 26 locations abroad. CBSE enforced strict rules to ensure fair conduct. Regular students were required to wear school uniforms, while private candidates had to wear light-coloured clothing.

Students were instructed to arrive at least 30 minutes early and to carefully read instructions before attempting the paper. The board also prohibited items such as mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, smartwatches, cameras, unauthorized materials, wallets, handbags, sunglasses, and food or beverages — except for diabetic students with prior approval.

To ease student travel on exam days, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in collaboration with the CISF, implemented special measures, giving students priority during frisking and ticketing, and deploying additional staff at metro stations during peak times.
