June 30: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Kulgam police in Mirbazar area have seized 04 vehicles and arrested 4 persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
A Police party headed by IC PP Mirbazar seized four vehicles (02 Tippers and 02 Tractors) and arrested four drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nallah Vaishow during checking at a checkpoint established at Akhran. Accordingly, case vide FIR No. 134/2025 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Qazigund and further investigation is going on.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood, so that timely action against the culprits will be taken.
