Still No Order on Power Amnesty Scheme: Waheed Para

Srinagar, 9 July : Senior PDP leader and Pulwama MLA Waheed Ur Rehman Para has criticized the Jammu and Kashmir government for the continued delay in implementing the power amnesty scheme announced earlier this year.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Para wrote:
“It’s been over four months since @OmarAbdullah led govt announced the extension of the power amnesty scheme. Yet, not a single official order has been issued till date on this matter. All of this has led to an administrative vacuum, with field officers unsure of how to proceed and consumers caught in a web of confusion and miscommunication.”

He further stated, “Public governance cannot function through announcements alone,” urging the Chief Minister to intervene immediately.

Pertinently, the Chief Minister had announced the extension of the power amnesty scheme for domestic consumers during the Assembly budget session in March this year. This marked the third time in the last three years that such a scheme has been introduced in J&K.
