FICCI FLO JKL participates in Seminar on GST organised by State Taxes Department

 

Varuna Anand stresses for harnessing full potential of GST to pace-up economic growth, sustainable development of all sectors

JAMMU, Aug 11: A delegation from FICCI FLO JKL led by Chairperson Varuna Anand on Friday participated in an interactive seminar held on ‘GST and its role in Growth and Development of India’, organized by the State Taxes Department at Excise and Taxation Complex Rail Head Jammu.

It is pertinent to mention that the State Taxes Department has been celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from August 1 to August 15, 2023, on the theme Meri Maati Mera Desh with focus on growth and development. As a part of this fortnight celebrations, the department held the aforesaid symposium on GST and its role in India’s growth and development. Mrs. Namrita Dorga , Addl Commissioner State Taxes (Adm & Enf), Jammu, presided over the event.

The FICCI FLO JKL team gave the aforesaid suggestions during the seminar.

Speaking on the occasion, Varuna Anand, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL stressed on harnessing the full potential of GST to drive economic growth, create jobs, reduce tax evasion, and ensure sustainable development across various sectors. She elucidated the role of GST in making vibrant changes in the growth and development pattern of the country and how the same could be accelerated for more lucrative results.

She welcomed the initiative of the State Taxes department in holding such workshops, imparting awareness on the GST process and making a vital and effective connect between stakeholders and the department. Such workshops also unravel the truth on the overall economic impact of GST inclining people towards this benevolent tax regime.

Mrs Ruchika Gupta Sr. Vice Chairperson also made pertinent suggestions which will be submitted to the department by FLO JKL

The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Anissa Nabi JKAS, Nodal Officer, State Taxes Department.

Mrs. Namrata Dorga welcomed the suggestions given by FICCI FLO JKL and requested them to submit the same in writing for their perusal by the department.

The workshop was attended by Varuna Anand, Ruchika Gupta, Sona Mehta, Payal Saraf, Varsha Bansal, Chandrika Singh, Rashika Sahni, Nandita Bajaj, Punica Chahal & Aditi Chopra Puri.
