Hundreds of PHE daily wagers have stopped water supply in Jammu on Monday which will badly hit the local people as the protesting PHE workers /daily seek their pending demands to be fulfilled by the local govt.
PHE workers who are gathered today at Company Bagh in Jammu city have suspended water supply of the local residents. The agitators shouted loud slogans against the LG’s administration and BJP leaders.
After suspending water supply at the Company Bagh, a protesting PHE employee told media, “We are protesting peacefully while the elected ministers are enjoying getting lakhs of wages monthly and we are struggling for daily food”.
He added, “We’re not against BJP and PM Modi but against those people who’re committing atrocities against us. So many of our daily wagers have died and their kids are suffering. There is too much inflation in these times how we will survive”.
” I want to ask LG sir, is it really right to withheld seventy months pending salaries of PHE daily wagers. The employees from the power department have been regularised but not us. This water supply will remain suspended till our demands are not met”, he said warning.
“We are ready to face bullets and batons. I’m ready to face bullets or I will commit suicide. We are so distressed. My wife and children ask money from me what should I give to them from my meagre wage of some hundred rupees”, another agitator added.
“The LG regime is looting public. The cops are cooperating with us and we can stop water supply. Our leaders are conversing with DC Jammu and if something happens in our favour through dialogues then we will welcome it”, another agitating daily wagers said.
“The LG sir don’t present our issues to the PM nor our two elected MPs. We will not vote our MPs this time and the water supply remain stop till our demands are not completed. I apologise to Shalamar hospital patients who’re going to suffer, they should arrange water for themselves “, he said.
