18 OTT apps blocked for vulgar content

The Union government today banned OTT apps, websites and social media platforms for airing content deemed obscene and vulgar content. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) today blocked 18 OTT platforms that have been airing content deemed obscene, vulgar, and, in some cases, pornographic.

The government has also banned 19 websites, 10 apps (7 on Google Play Store, 3 on Apple App Store), and 57 social media accounts linked to these platforms.
