Police on Monday arrested a man for looting a donation box from a mosque in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police spokesperson in a statement said that following a complaint received on April 4, the Pattan police station initiated an investigation. The complaint was accompanied by reports of a mobile tab theft from the State Bank of India in the Pattan market the following day.
Subsequent police inquiries linked both incidents to the same perpetrator. Identified as Nasir Ahmad Najar, a resident of Najar Mohalla Pattan, the individual was implicated in both cases.
The culprit was traced and subsequently apprehended by Baramulla Police.
According to police statements, “During interrogation, the alleged accused confessed to the crime and led to the place where he had concealed the stolen property, leading to the recovery of stolen property.”
Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
