Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) has stepped up its efforts to ensure smooth transportation for Republic Day celebrations across the Kashmir Valley. A total of 197 vehicles, including Smart City buses, have been deployed for this purpose.
Top source of JRTC stated that these vehicles will be utilized to facilitate hassle-free transportation on January 26. “The deployment includes buses and other vehicles that will operate across different parts of the valley. To ensure timely service, the vehicles will be deputed on the evening of January 25,” he said.
Ahanger further mentioned that 16 buses from the Department of School Education are currently being utilized for this purpose. “Our primary focus is to provide comfortable and efficient pick-and-drop services for people attending the Republic Day functions at various venues,” he added.
This initiative underscores JKRTC’s commitment to public service and its pivotal role in facilitating important events in the region. The deployment of Smart City buses also highlights the corporation’s efforts toward modernizing public transport in Jammu and Kashmir.
