Nowshera, Jan 31: A police team from Police Station Nowshera, during routine vehicle and pedestrian checking at Naushera, intercepted a Scooty bearing registration number JK11H 4395, which was coming from Bareri towards Nowshera.
The vehicle, carrying a driver and a pillion rider, was stopped for checking. However, upon noticing the police, the duo began acting suspiciously, raising doubts. A thorough personal search of both individuals led to the recovery of six grams of heroin-like narcotic substance from their possession.
The accused have been identified as:
- Ashu Bali, son of Rakesh Kumar, resident of Rajal, Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri.
- Pankaj Kumar, son of Shiv Ratan, resident of Bareri, Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri.
Following the recovery, a case has been registered under FIR No. 14/2025 at Police Station Nowshera under Sections 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act. Both the accused have been arrested, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and possible links in the case.
