Kupwara Police Apprehends Two Drug Peddlers; Contraband Recovered

Kupwara, 11 February 2025: In a significant action against drug peddling, Police Post Bazaar apprehended two individuals and recovered contraband during a routine checking operation.

On the evening of 10-02-2025, at approximately 2045 hours, a checkpoint was established by Police Post Bazaar at Geerhati Kupwara as part of routine checking.

During checking two individuals were found roaming in a suspicious manner. The checking party tactfully apprehended them, and upon questioning, they disclosed their identities as,Sameer Ahmad Zargar, son of Bashir Ahmad Zargar, resident of Tiker Kupwara and Sachin Koul, son of Suresh Koul, resident of Nagrota Jammu.

Upon conducting their personnel search, brown sugar-like substance weighing approximately 7.13 grams was recovered from their possession.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 41/2025 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kupwara, and further investigation has been initiated.
