Indian Army Reports Calm Night in Jammu and Kashmir

NEW DELHI, May 12: The Indian Army announced on Monday morning that the previous night in Jammu and Kashmir passed without any confrontations between Indian and Pakistani forces along the Line of Control and the International Border.

In a short statement, the Army noted, “The night was largely peaceful across Jammu and Kashmir and along the International Border.” It further added that no incidents were reported, marking the first quiet night in several days.

Earlier, on May 7, India had initiated Operation Sindoor targeting seven terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam. All Indian countermeasures to Pakistani actions have since been conducted under this operation.

On Saturday, both India and Pakistan agreed to cease all hostilities across land, air, and sea starting from 5 p.m. the same day. However, Pakistani forces did violate the ceasefire agreement later that night.
