At least ten people were injured when a Taveera vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident at NHW Fruit Mandi in the Jalblipora area of Bijbhera, South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The Taveera, bearing registration number JK14B-9328, hit a divider near the National Highway Fruit Mandi, leading to injuries among the passengers. The injured include Sanjay Kumar, son of Sri Biree Singh, a resident of New Delhi, aged 30 years; Benu, wife of Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, aged 33 years; Ajay, son of Dharminder, a resident of Faridabad, aged 22 years; Ifat, wife of Ajay Kumar, a resident of Faridabad, aged 23 years; Dharminder, son of Ram Dass, a resident of Faridabad, aged 48 years; Anjli, daughter of Dharminder, a resident of Faridabad, aged 17 years and Durgash Devi, wife of Dharminder Kumar, a resident of Faridabad, Haryana, aged 47 years.
All the injured were immediately taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbhera. Seven of them were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for specialized treatment, while three were discharged after receiving first aid.
Authorities have started an investigation into the incident. Further details are awaited.
