Srinagar, June 19 :
The Jammu and Kashmir government has given the administrative departments one year extension to prepare and announce their recruitment rules through Executive Orders. A new Government Order No. 731-JK(GAD) of 2025 was issued on Tuesday by the General Administration Department (GAD), giving departments one more year to complete the process.
Earlier, the government had already given two extensions. In February 2024, the government allowed departments to fill important or urgent posts through Executive Orders for six months, but only after getting approval from the ARI & Trainings Department and the Law Department.
Later in November 2024, the government gave another six-month extension. This happened because many departments could not finish the work on time, especially since the new recruitment guidelines were issued in June 2024. That order had clearly said that no more extensions would be given after that.
However, even after these two chances, several departments are still not ready with their recruitment rules. Now, the government has decided to give one final extension of one year. This is to make sure all departments can properly follow the rules and complete the recruitment process in the right way.
The latest order was signed by M. Raju (IAS), Commissioner and Secretary to the Government. Copies of the order have been sent to top officers like the Financial Commissioners, Director General of Police, Principal Secretaries, and Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu.
