A local woman has fallen prey to snatchers in Laxmi Enclave Sector-2 in Trikuta Nagar of Jammu yesterday, who snacted her purse and fled away from the scene.

A local man has described the street as a hotspot of snatching incidents emphasising several women have become victims of the burglars here.

“I left my office around 8:15 pm from Channi and when I entered this lane two boys below the age of twenty years grabbed my scooty from behind and snatched my purse, they ran away down the lane crossing the drain”, the victim woman told media.

“The street lights were off and when I raised the alarm the shanty dwellers came out and we chased the snatchers but they escaped leaving their vintage bike behind without number plates”, she added, “I have registered an FIR at Trikuta Nagar police station but nothing has happened now”.

“My mobile, cash, keys, cards were in the purse. I thought a dog grabbed my scooty but when I turned back, I saw two minor maskless boys”, she further said.

“Many such snatching incidents have happened here. It is very frequent thing here. One to two snatching incidents take place here annually”, a local man added showing concern.
