Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to chair a crucial meeting of party leaders of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday to discuss the prevailing political situation in the Union Territory.
Highly placed sources apart from discussing the political situation and preparations for the forthcoming Assembly polls in J&K, the issue of alleged scandal in the Bharat Jodo Yatra is likely to be taken issue.
While taking to the Jammu and Kashmir News Point some Congress leaders have alleged irregularities of funds during the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi in 2023.
As reported earlier, the Congress high command has already started an internal inquiry into the alleged bungling in the funds during the Yatra.
Meanwhile, reports said that Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to lead a pivotal meeting in New Delhi tomorrow, with key Congress leaders from Jammu and Kashmir in attendance. This meeting follows the recent visit of the Election Commission of India to the region.

According to party sources J&K Congress president Vikar Rasool, Raman Bhalla, Tariq Hamid Karra, GA Mir, Pirzada Muhammad Sayeed, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Lal Singh, and Congress party legal advisor Ashok Bhan are invited to the important meeting.
This meeting is viewed as a crucial move in the Congress party’s strategy to rejuvenate its presence in the region, particularly in the Jammu province. With the Assembly elections approaching, the party is eager to evaluate the ground situation and devise a strategy to reclaim lost ground.

Sources said that potential candidates for the Assembly elections will be discussed during the meeting.

Sources further said that earlier two teams were deputed to Jammu and Kashmir to review the party’s situation in the Union Territory.
“Teams deputed by the Congress high command have not given encouraging feedback about the performance of some incumbent leaders who are staking their claims for party mandates”, sources said, adding, “Party leader Rahul Gandhi is personally monitoring party’s preparations for the coming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir”.
