Following a report on suspicious movement near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector here, the Army carried out a search operation on Saturday, according to security authorities.
According to the officials, some villagers reported issues to the neighbouring Army camp after observing the movements of some suspected terrorists at Jogiwan in the early hours of the day.
They claimed that the Army troops launched a comprehensive search and immediately surrounded the village and the surrounding woodland.
At the time of the new reports, officials said the search and cordon operation was still in progress, but they had not yet discovered any evidence of the suspected individuals.
On October 28 and 29, last year, a two-day operation in the Akhnoor sector killed three heavily armed terrorists from the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group.
