KPDCL Employee Caught Taking Bribe in Budgam

Srinagar: An employee of the Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation’s Anti-Corruption Branch in the Magam area of Beerwah, Budgam, for accepting a bribe.

According to officials, the accused, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, was caught red-handed while receiving Rs 4,000 from a complainant. The bribe was allegedly demanded to facilitate a power connection for the complainant’s poultry farm.

Following a formal complaint, the anti-corruption team conducted a verification and set up a trap, leading to the arrest of the accused during the transaction. A case has been registered under FIR No. 3 of 2025, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
